After 12/31/2022 hand tracking func

In SDK Release Note 1.6.0, It write this.

“* MR Apps using the Hand Tracking feature in NRSDK 1.6.0 can only operate until 12/31/2022.”

After 12/31/2022, What will be hand tracking func? Can not use??

I’d like to know what that mean as well. Is it a paid feature, will it be deprecated, why the mystery date? Should we stop using hand tracking ?

Looks like nreal don’t care at all about us.

Hand tracking was only just released in 1.6.0- so its probably still a work in progress. I suspect Nreal will release an updated SDK with improved hand-racking before that date, and the date in the current SDK is to ensure that developers using the feature move on to the improved SDK.

Thank you, but I’d rather read an official answer from nreal-dev. Otherwise we can only assume.

Assume? I think it is clear that they do not want to use old and outdated SDK on apps in the PlayStore. There will be follow up SDKs that replace the old one, so to be sure everyone stays up to date, you mark beta features with an enddate. Also they want you to use their product, why should they make it harder to develop for, if the market needs to be penetrated.
But please, @XREAL-dev should correct me, if I am wrong. Or if they would care about this community. It is so sad to see no feedback on so many questions here.

jan, no offense, but you are also assuming this. And I’m not saying this against you at all, I just want official response basically, which should be a given considering we are on THEIR USELESS forum.

I think they just want their product to die basically. I don’t know how they expect to stay competitive that way and they are fighting against Unreal at the same time as turning their back to us the devs that would use their product… It’s just an insanely dumb strategy.

yeah, like some of us want to believe, but if the manufacturer does not believe, how can we? the product is basically a very good idea, but not helping the people making and creating content is dumb.

It is true that before 12/31/2022, Nreal should’ve updated NRSDK with new hand tracking algorithm implemented. The current operation date before 12/31/2022 is utterly due to commercial reasons internally.

Thank you!

I also have this problem, the version used is 1.7.0, and it was used normally before December 31. Now when I open the program again, the Nebula updates, indicating that the device does not support it, may I ask if I need to update the SDK version
