Hi,
We have 2 sets of Xreal Ultra 2 Air’s and Samsung S23 phones ready and waiting for us to test with the Unity SDK. I refer to the comment on this page (https://developer.xreal.com/download) that “SDK 2.3.1 is currently only compatible with the Beam Pro and My Glasses 1.4.0. For developers using Android phones, please wait for the Nebula 3.8.1 release in late September.”
We are now mid-October and we are wondering when this might be available?
Thanks.
We are now end of October. Any update as to when this will be available?
Wondering on the same issue. Is there any workaround to use the air 2 ultra with any other mobiles?
It’s out! And I need to add random text just to reach 20 character minimum
Where do we find it?
I’d be interested to know if you get really bad tearing using the S23 and Ultras with your apps.
I’ve been porting apps I made for the Lights to the Ultras and I’m having so many issues, even when not using URP.
Well, for me, nothing works at all now. I used to get the Nebula menu tiles up but I don’t even get that with 3.8.1. Eventually I get a message saying ‘Sorry, the current device is still being adapted and temporarily unavailable. You can get AR experience from other devices’. Click link and my device Samsung SM-S911B is listed!
Ah man, that’s not good.
We’ve got a bunch of Ultras and S23’s because they state they’re good for development… and they just seem to be riddled with issues. I hope you manage to get things sorted
It really isn’t good!
I am not sure if I should be spending a lot of time trying to resolve problems to get it to work - or it just simply doesn’t work! If anyone can advise it would be much appreciated.
I just updated Nebula and the SDK, and it’s launching ok on my S23s. I have no idea what the issue is on yours unfortunately. I’ve learnt over the past few years that Nreal/Xreal devices and software aren’t the most reliable.
Does it still happen if you remove Nebula and re-install?
Thanks f0ld for the suggestion. I’ve just tried a reinstall and it’s doing the same thing. But I have worked out that I need to disable DeX on the phone. I now have the Nebula ‘home’ screen appearing. Unfortunately, I still can’t run the sample apps like ‘Maze’ and ‘PupPup’. Made with Unity appears on they phone display and then they just crash. This is basically where I was before the 3.8.1 update which I though was supposed to fix this. Is there any point in trying the SDK if the sample apps don’t work?
Ah, totally forgot about DeX, sorry!
I don’t think those apps work for anyone any more. I think they’re a throwback to a different time and just aren’t supported anymore and the developers haven’t updated them to work with newer devices.
Give the SDK a go. The example scenes are very basic, just the bare bones to give an idea of how you can implement usage though
I will say, make sure you target the right Android platform otherwise it won’t allow you to open the app. Also, you need to make sure when you install an app, it’s allowed to play on top. It should just pop up and let your slide the slider
No need to apologise! I don’t remember disabling DeX before but I thought I’d give it a try. Interesting about the demo apps. I kind of just assumed they would work - being demos after all! I will give the SDK a go. Thanks.
I’m able to successfully run the samples from nrsdk 2.2.1 with nebula 3.8.1 on my s23, however I couldn’t manage to run nrsdk 2.3.x
So might want to give 2.2.1 a spin if the newest doesn’t work for you…
